Amaravati, Apr 8 (PTI) A World Bank delegation met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday to discuss investment potential and infrastructure development in Amaravati.

Naidu briefed the delegation on the progress of the greenfield capital city and the ongoing infrastructure works.

According to a press release, World Bank representatives appreciated the pace of construction in Amaravati and said the city has the potential to emerge as a growth engine for the state.

Highlighting reforms in the IT and power sectors, the delegation noted that the infrastructure being developed in Amaravati is likely to attract large-scale international investment, the release said.

The delegation also expressed confidence that, with continued infrastructure expansion, Amaravati would develop into a hub for commercial and economic activity in the state.

Naidu told the delegation that the government is focused on building a world-class capital while ensuring balanced development across all regions.

He added that plans are being prepared for the comprehensive development of the state, covering all three regions, the release said. PTI MS SSK
