Indore, Mar 30 (PTI) A 27-year-old woman has given birth to triplets at a government hospital in Indore, an official said on Monday.

The mother and infants, two girls and a boy, are healthy after the high-risk delivery on Sunday at the hospital attached to Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College, the official added.

“Before delivery, the woman’s ultrasound report showed only two babies in her womb. She first gave birth to two girls. That’s when we thought she was carrying another baby. Later, she gave birth to a boy. The three premature babies weigh between 1.70 kg and 1.90 kg and are receiving special care,” Dr Ruchi Joshi, associate professor at the college, told PTI.

The woman, a resident of Pithampur industrial area near Indore, is a second time mother. She already has a daughter, Joshi added. PTI HWP MAS BNM
