Kolkata, Mar 15 (PTI) Days after Union Home Ministry sent a letter seeking central deputation of Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar following the row over President Droupadi Murmu’s recent north Bengal visit, the West Bengal government has transferred the IPS officer and posted him as IGP, Intelligence Branch, an official said on Sunday.
The state government notification transferring Sudhakar as IGP, Intelligence Branch (North Bengal), was issued on March 14 as part of a reshuffle of IPS and WBPS officers, the official said.
Sudhakar, who was serving as Commissioner of Police of Siliguri Police Commissionerate in the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP), will now take charge as IGP, Intelligence Branch (North Bengal) with effect from the date of assuming office, the notification said.
Syed Waquar Raza, who was posted as DIG of Jalpaiguri Range, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police of Siliguri Police Commissionerate in the rank of DIG, it said.

Meanwhile, Santi Das, WBPS, who was Additional SP at the West Bengal Human Rights Commission and on deputation as ADC to the Governor of West Bengal, has been appointed as Deputy Commanding Officer of SAP 2nd Battalion.
