Raipur, Dec 26 (PTI) The valour and sacrifice of the two sons of Guru Gobind Singh will be included in the Chhattisgarh school syllabus, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Thursday on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas.

Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated on December 26 since 2022 to mark the martyrdom of the Sikh Guru’s sons Sahib Zorawar Singh and Sahib Fateh Singh, reverentially referred to as ‘Sahibzades’.

Addressing a seminar at Medical College Auditorium here, Sai said, “The story of the immortal sacrifice of Veer Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh Ji and Fateh Singh Ji will now be taught to school children in Chhattisgarh. It will inspire the younger generation to move forward with courage. We must adopt the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh and Veer Sahibzadas and connect the new generation to their ideals.” He also watched an animated film based on the Sahibzadas.

“Veer Bal Diwas reminds us of the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus to protect the nation,” Sai said and hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring the day is observed as Veer Bal Diwas.

The forces that try to break up society are active in every era but no one dare raise an eye at a nation where brave personalities like Guru Gobind Singh and the Sahibzadas are born, the CM asserted.

“The character of India has basically been of social harmony. Orthodoxy and frenzy never found any place in our country. Chhattisgarh is the best example of it,” Sai added. PTI COR BNM
