Pithoragarh, March 15 (PTI) Three people died and a fourth was seriously injured on Sunday after their car skidded off the road and plunged into a 20-metre-deep gorge here on Sunday, police said.
According to the police, the incident occurred early morning near Bangapani, about 90 km from the district headquarters. The victims were travelling to Munsyari when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Munsyari Police Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Arya said two person died on the spot, while a third person died while being taken to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Ankit Pandey (28), Ayush Pant (29) and Laxman Singh Negi (35).
A fourth passenger, Devendra Bhatt, sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to a hospital, the SHO added. PTI DPT AKY
