Dehradun, July 10 (PTI) Officials from the Uttarakhand Transport Department and representatives from other departments held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the Electric Vehicle (Manufacturing and Purchase) Policy 2025.
In the meeting, led by the state’s Chief Secretary, Anand Bardhan, the draft of the policy was presented, and its key aspects were discussed in detail.
The chief secretary told the officials that to realise the green mobility in Uttarakhand, the policy should include the provision of better incentives for manufacturers, consumers and operators so that a viable ecosystem for electric vehicles can be developed in the state.
He also directed officials to make provisions for developing an effective and quick monitoring mechanism in the policy for quick resolution of issues to pave way for an ecosystem conducive to electric vehicles.
Transport Department Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey said that there are over 42 lakh vehicles in the state, out of which the number of electric vehicles is 84,614. HIG AMJ AMJ
