New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan was found guilty by a Rampur court Thursday in a case pertaining to a “hate speech” in 2019.
The quantum of punishment will be pronounced later in the afternoon.

The case was registered against Khan in Rampur on 9 April, 2019 for allegedly making provocative remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and IAS officer Aunjaneya Kumar Singh, the then district magistrate. Khan is the current Member of Parliament from Rampur.
Earlier this year, Azam Khan was released from the Sitapur jail after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in an alleged cheating case. The SP leader faces nearly 90 cases, including that of corruption and theft.
