Dhar, Mar 16 (PTI) A farmer and his family held a ‘dance’ protest accompanied by the beating of drums at a bank in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh on Monday over delay in issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) despite repaying a loan.

A video of the incident, in which Vijay Patidar, a farmer from Chandwada village, and his kin were seen dancing to the beat of drums and blowing of trumpets, went viral on social media.

“I had taken a loan of Rs 13 lakh on a Kisan Credit Card from IDFC Bank in Dhar and had repaid the amount a month earlier. However, despite visiting the bank for the past one-and-half months, I have not been given an NOC in this regard. We took this step to wake up bank officials,” Patidar told PTI.

The bank manager has assured the NOC would be processed as soon as possible, Patidar said, adding he had warned bank staffers that he would stage such a protest again if it is not granted soon.

Bank officials refused to comment on the incident. PTI COR BNS MAS BNM
