UP: Man, 2 children killed; wife critical as school bus hits bike in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Apr 1 (PTI) A 45-year-old man and his two children were killed while his wife was critically injured after their motorcycle was hit head-on by a speeding school bus here on Wednesday, police said.

The accident occurred on the Haidernagar Jalalpur road under the Titawi police station limits, they said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said the victims were identified as Mahipal, his son Abhi (8) and daughter Radhika (12), all of whom died on the spot.

Mahipal’s wife, Punam (40), sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where her condition is critical, the officer said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, he added.

Police arrested the bus driver, identified as Surender, and seized the vehicle.
