Gorakhpur (UP), Mar 27 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed police officials to take strict and immediate action against those resorting to strong-arm tactics, asserting that such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
During a Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath Temple for the second consecutive day, he took serious note of complaints, particularly from underprivileged sections, alleging intimidation and threats by influential individuals.
According to a statement, the chief minister said if any accused, after securing bail, threatens a complainant then officials should initiate steps to seek cancellation of the bail.
During the public interaction programme held outside Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan, Adityanath heard the grievances of around 200 people from different districts.
He forwarded their applications to the concerned officials, directing them to ensure quick and satisfactory redressal, and reiterated that addressing every individual’s problem remains the government’s commitment.
The CM also emphasised that justice should be delivered without discrimination and directed officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of welfare schemes.
Authorities were further instructed to arrange proper medical care for the needy and take stringent action against land mafias and illegal encroachments.
During the interaction, several people also requested financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses and the chief minister assured them that the shortage of funds would not hinder treatment.
The government would extend necessary support upon receiving estimates from hospitals, he added.
Adityanath also interacted with children who accompanied their families and offered them chocolates. PTI COR CDN SMV NB
