UP: 3 killed, 9 injured in car-tempo collision in Sambhal

Sambhal (UP), Mar 22 (PTI) Three people were killed and nine others injured after a car collided with a passenger tempo in Sambhal district on Sunday evening, police said.

The accident took place near Udharanpur village when a car and a tempo carrying passengers collided head-on, Circle Officer Pradeep Kumar said.

According to police, two occupants of the car and ten passengers travelling in the tempo were injured in the crash. A police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Three of the injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while nine others are undergoing treatment and have been referred to a higher medical centre.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh (24), Rajni (14) and Kishori Lal (40). All the deceased were all occupants of the tempo.

The injured include Ompal (35), Shaukeen (32), Rajnish (20), Priyanshu (14) and Kripal (35), among others.

Police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and efforts are underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. PTI COR CDN SKY SKY
