New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Shri V. Somanna inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express trains stoppage on route Dharwad – KSR Bengaluru at Tumkur railway station, a PIB press release stated.
This new stoppage will help the people of Tumkur. The train carrying passengers on route No. 20661 KSR Bengaluru—Dharwad will stop in Tumkur at 6:32 a.m. The arrival time of Train No. 20662 Dharwad—KSR Bengaluru at Tumkur Railway Station is 18:18 hrs.
The stoppage of Vande Bharat Express in Tumkur was part of the return journey of the train to Bengaluru. Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna flagged off the Vande Bharat Express at the Tumakuru railway station. He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the railways have undergone a complete transformation.
The average outlay on railway projects in Karnataka has increased ninefold; now, it is about Rs 7500 crore. To improve the connectivity of Tumkur city, 5 ROBs of Rs 350 crore were sanctioned in July 2024. The minister said that the blueprint of the Tumkur railway station is being prepared. The railway station is expected to be upgraded to a world-class terminal, spending Rs 100 crore.
