Union govt mandates wheat stock reporting, process to start from April 1

The government has said that the stock declaration of wheat and rice will be mandatory for all the traders, wholesalers, retailers, big-chain retailers, and processors in all the states and union territories.

New Delhi: In order to manage the overall food security and to prevent hoarding and unscrupulous speculation, the Government of India has ordered that Traders/Wholesalers, Retailers, Big Chain Retailers, and Processors in all States and Union Territories must declare their stock position of wheat on the portal  (https://evegoils.nic.in/wheat/login.html) starting from April 1st, 2024, and then, on every Friday until further notice.

The government has said that the stock declaration of wheat and rice will be mandatory for all the traders, wholesalers, retailers, big-chain retailers, and processors in all the states and union territories.

The declaration will be made on the portal of the Department of Food and Public Distribution. According to the government, the stock limit of wheat and rice of all categories is expiring on 31.03. 2024.

After this, the concerned entities will have to submit the stock data on the portal. The government has also said that rice stock declaration by all categories of entities is already in place. Any entity, which is not registered on the portal, can also register itself and start submitting wheat and rice stock data on every Friday.
