Two engineering students killed, 3 injured as car falls into roadside pit in Bihar’s Nalanda

Bihar Sharif, Mar 19 (PTI) Two engineering students were killed and three injured when their speeding car fell into a roadside pit in Bihar’s Nalanda district on Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred near Gaudhapur More under Chandi police station area of Nalanda district.

The deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar and Rahul Kumar, both students of Nalanda Engineering College.

Chandi Station House Officer (SHO) Suman Kumar said, “Initial investigations reveal that the accident occurred due to overspeeding and imbalance. Further inspection is underway.” After the accident, police rescued the injured persons with the help of locals and took them to Chandi Referral Hospital, where two were declared dead, and the others were admitted to hospital.

Kumar said that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the car was speeding towards Chandi when the driver lost control, and the vehicle fell into a pit along the roadside.
