Tirupati, Jul 17 (PTI) TTD and IOCL have signed an agreement for the latter to supply cooking gas to the temple body for the next 30 years.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ chairman B R Naidu said Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has been supplying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to the world-renowned temple for the past two decades, an official release said on Thursday.

“IOCL has been continuously supplying LPG to TTD for the past two decades, and a new agreement has now been signed to ensure uninterrupted supply for the next 30 years,” it added.

On Wednesday, Naidu laid the foundation stone for a 45-tonne IOCL LPG storage facility at the Outer Ring Road in Tirumala to meet TTD’s future requirements.

The gas storage facility, being jointly developed by TTD and IOCL at a cost of Rs 8 crore, is expected to be completed within six months.

The stored LPG will be used for preparing laddu prasadam and free meal, it further said. PTI STH SSK
