Chennai, Mar 23 (PTI) The ruling DMK on Monday signed the seat-sharing agreement with ally CPI(M) allocating it five seats to contest in the April 23 Assembly election as part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance.
The Marxist party contested six constituencies in alliance with the DMK in the 2021 Assembly election but won two from Gandarvakottai and Keezhvelur – both reserved constituencies.
DMK president M K Stalin and CPI(M) state secretary P Shanmugam signed the pact at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK state headquarters, here, in the presence of senior leaders from both parties. PTI JSP JSP KH
