Jaipur, Apr 2 (PTI) Rajasthan DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Thursday said timely promotions and equal career opportunities will be ensure for police personnel in the state During his visit to Bikaner range, Sharma conducted a detailed inspection of the police lines, inaugurated a newly constructed barrack and interacted directly with personnel to address their grievances.

He reviewed various units and mess facilities, and directed officials to ensure availability of nutritious food and adequate resources for effective functioning.

The DGP inspected Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) training centre and called for enhanced capacity building to strengthen smart and high-tech policing, according to a release.

He inaugurated a special health camp at the police lines and directed that more personnel be covered under health card schemes, stressing that welfare of policemen is a priority.

Addressing a ‘sampark sabha’, Sharma assured personnel that efforts are being made to reduce gaps in promotions across cadres.

Highlighting emerging challenges, he asked personnel to remain vigilant given the proximity to interstate and international borders, and flagged rising drug abuse among youth and cybercrime as key concerns.

He directed officials to organise regular cyber training at the circle level and enhance proficiency of investigating officers in handling digital evidence.

Sharma also assured that police personnel travelling to other states for investigation would be provided necessary resources and facilities, and instructed officers at all levels to proactively address issues. PTI SDA NB NB
