New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Heavy rain and thunderstorm lashed the national capital on Tuesday night as the weather office issued an orange alert.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has advised residents to be prepared for thunderstorms under the orange alert, the city witnessed intermittent spells of rainfall through the day.
Between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Safdarjung and Lodhi Road recorded 3 mm rainfall each. Palam and Ridge recorded 2.1 mm each, and Ayanagar reported 2 mm of rainfall during this period.
The IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by rain in the city on Wednesday as well.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature settled at 28.8 degrees Celsius, several notches below normal. The city had last recorded a similar dip when the maximum temperature reached 28.4 degrees Celsius on April 1, 2023. PTI SGV NB NB
