Malappuram (Kerala), Mar 12 (PTI) Three persons were killed after a car collided with a private bus at Morayur here on Thursday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Sakkeena and Shiyas, both natives of Olavakkode, Palakkad and Basila of Pandikkad in Malappuram district.

Two others, Afrida and Ibrahim, sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital.

According to police, the accident occurred around 8 am when the deceased and injured persons were travelling in a car driven by Shiyas after returning from the Kozhikode airport.

When the car reached Morayur, it reportedly lost control and collided with a private bus plying between Palakkad and Kozhikode.

Though all the passengers in the car were rushed to the hospital, three of them succumbed to their injuries, police said.

The condition of the injured persons is stable though they have suffered fractures, police added.

Kondotty police have registered a case and started an investigation.
