Three boys drown in Tawai River in Jammu; rescue operation underway

Jammu, Mar 29 (PTI) Three boys reportedly drowned in the Tawi River here on Sunday, prompting the authorities to launch a large-scale rescue operation, officials said.

The three boys – Bavish Koul, Sonam Dutt and Aditya Pandit, all belonging ot the Kashmiri Pandit community – were swept away by a strong current near the Nagrota Sainik School on the outskirts of Jammu on Sunday evening, they said.

On being informed, teams from the police, NDRF, SDRF and local volunteers rushed to the spot and launched an operation to trace the missing boys, the officials said.

The operation was underway at the time of filing of this report, with divers and rescue teams combing the area. PTI TAS ARI ARI
