Pedabayalu (Andhra Pradesh), April 12 (PTI) Three minor boys drowned in a canal bund in Alluri Sitharama Raju district after venturing into deep waters during a casual outing on Sunday, a police official said.

A group of five boys from the same locality had gone near the bund, but three drowned after entering the water, while two were rescued by locals who noticed them struggling.

Police said the boys had ventured into the water despite warnings about its depth.

A man repairing a boat and others nearby attempted a rescue, managing to pull out two boys, while three could not be saved due to poor visibility in the water.

Police said a case is being registered under Section 194 of the BNSS. PTI MS SSK
