The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) organises its annual summit, SYNCHN 2024

The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) organized its annual summit, SYNCHN 2024, bringing together key stakeholders from the healthcare industry to discuss opportunities for collaboration and promoting research and development, a PIB press release stated.

This year’s event, which took place on July 14, 2024, focused on key themes such as bioinnovation, personalized medicine, and clinical analytics. The summit witnessed presentations from leading experts from both the academic and industrial sectors, including representatives from startups, established companies, and policymakers.

The conference aimed to strengthen academia-industry collaborations and promote research and development by advancing translational research.

The chief guest of the event, Prof. Vinod K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, emphasised the importance of academia-industry collaborations in driving bio innovation and establishing India as a global supply chain leader. He highlighted the urgent need for such partnerships and called for 100-day missions to drive bioinnovation.

Prof. Nirmal K. Ganguly, former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), stressed the importance of collaboration between academic and industrial sectors in the field of medical biotechnology. He commended THSTI for its efforts in bringing together stakeholders from diverse areas with a shared focus on bio-innovation and biomanufacturing.

The executive director of THSTI, Prof. Ganesan Karthikeyan, shared the vision behind SYNCHN 2024 and the significance of industry partnerships in advancing translational research. He emphasised THSTI’s commitment to leveraging its research expertise and cutting-edge facilities to empower industry partners and further translational research efforts.

The event showcased the diverse research projects of THSTI and its collaborators. The presentations and discussions at SYNCHN 2024 provided a platform for the industry community to explore opportunities for collaboration and identify key challenges in the field of medical biotechnology.
