Thane, Apr 11 (PTI) The Thane Municipal Corporation has launched its pre-monsoon ‘nullah’ (major drain) cleaning drive from Mumbra, an official said on Saturday.
Mayor Sharmila Pimpolkar directed officials to ensure desilting of all major drains is complete by May-end before the onset of monsoons.
Timely completion of drain cleaning is essential to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon, she said.
The work commenced from Amrit Nagar drain in Mumbra’s was number 32 in the presence of local corporator and leader of opposition in TMC Ashraf Shanu Pathan, who welcomed the early start of the drive. PTI COR BNM
