Lucknow/Budaun (UP), Mar 14 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh government late on Friday night transferred the Senior Superintendent of Police of Budaun, Brijesh Kumar Singh, to Lucknow.
Singh has been appointed as the superintendent of police (logistics).
He has been replaced by Ankita Sharma, the superintendent of police of Kasganj, the UP Police said in a statement.
In all, seven IPS officers were transferred.
The transfer of SSP Budaun to Lucknow assumes significance, as it came barely a day after two senior officials of an ethanol plant in Budaun were shot dead (on Thursday), with police arresting a blacklisted vendor in connection with the killings, officials said.
The incident took place at a Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) plant in Sejni village under Musajhag police station limits, they said.
The deceased were identified as Sudhir Kumar Gupta (58), a general manager (GM) at the facility, and Harshit Mishra (34), assistant general manager.
