Six killed in two separate road accidents on Bengaluru outskirts

Bengaluru, Mar 22 (PTI) Six people, including three women were killed in two separate road accidents on Bengaluru outskirts late on March 21, police said on Sunday.

Three women, reportedly on a spiritual journey to Kashi, were killed when the tempo traveller they were heading toward the airport was hit by a speeding truck near Devanahalli, they said.

According to police, 12 people from Tiptur in Tumakuru district were on their way to the airport to catch a flight for Kashi.

The accident occurred when the speeding truck hit the tempo traveller that was attempting to take the correct service road near the Rani Cross.

The tempo traveller was mangled due to the impact of the accident. Three women — two aged 60 and the other 38 –died on the spot. Another woman, who was seriously injured, has been shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for treatment.

The injured people, including the driver of the ill-fated tempo traveller, are undergoing treatment at local hospitals.

Police said they have registered a case and further probe and procedures will follow.

In another road accident, three men died, after the mini goods vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a truck parked on the roadside due to a flat tyre, near Medahalli.

The mini goods vehicle was mangled due to the impact of the accident.
