Indore, Apr 9 (PTI) Indore district authorities sealed several commercial establishments on Thursday for alleged violation of fire safety norms.
The action was taken during a drive against non-compliance with fire safety regulations in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital, an official said.
“Serious lapses were found in fire safety arrangements during inspections carried out as part of the drive. The sealed establishments include vehicle and furniture showrooms, hotels, coaching institutes, garment shops, cafes, gyms and libraries,” he said.
During inspections, it was found that either fire safety systems were completely absent or the available equipment did not meet prescribed standards.
