Chennai, Mar 24 (PTI) AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday said seat-sharing talks with allied parties like TMC(M) and IJK were nearing completion.
Releasing the party’s poll manifesto for the April 23 Assembly elections, Palaniswami told reporters: “Seat sharing talks with smaller parties are in the final stages. Negotiations are going on with Tamil Maanila Congress-Moopanar, Puratchi Bharatam party and IJK. We will announce it in a day or two.” Following Monday’s announcement regarding major NDA partners such as BJP and PMK, he said, “We will announce specific constituencies for the parties shortly.” Asked how seat-sharing talks would be held in view of his election campaign from March 25, Palaniswami clarified that negotiations on seat sharing will be managed along with the other commitments.
Addressing a query regarding funding for freebies promised in the manifesto, he defended the party’s fiscal management record.
“During COVID-19 enforced lockdown, when there was no revenue. Even at that time, the AIADMK-led government delivered excellent governance.” “When we return to power, we will focus on expanding the financial base through appropriate channels to fulfill promises,” he said. PTI VIJ JSP VGN VIJ ROH
