Patan, Mar 27 (PTI) A Rs 17 crore bus port with ‘airport-like facilities” was inaugurated in Patan by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Hrash Sanghavi on Friday.

Equipped with airport-like facilities, this bus port is not just a means of travel but will also become a new hub for Patan’s development and prosperity, he said.

“The historic city of Patan is now reaching new heights in modern transportation. Today, an ultra-modern and iconic bus port, built at a cost of Rs 17 crore and spread across 15,974 square meters, was inaugurated in Patan,” he wrote on X.

With a spacious waiting area, digital displays, and commercial spaces, it will also boost the local economy, he added.

“Now citizens of Patan will experience world-class transportation services right in their own city. This project, a confluence of cleanliness, safety, and convenience, will provide passengers with a comfortable travel experience. Bus stations, workshops, and premium bus services developed under the PPP model with modern amenities have now become the identity of Gujarat ST,” Sanghavi asserted.

The bus port features a large bus stand area, passenger concourse, inquiry and reservation centre, as well as dining options including a canteen and restaurant. Additional amenities such as a cloakroom, parcel and store room, dormitory, restroom, and a special waiting area have also been incorporated to enhance passenger convenience.

Features also include digital displays, CCTV cameras, ticket counters, wheelchair access, and a solar power system. Furthermore, the bus port will host commercial facilities such as a shopping mall, retail market, food court, and office spaces. PTI KVM BNM
