Shimla, Mar 19 (PTI) A heated exchange took place between the ruling party and the opposition on Thursday during question hour over the regularisation of outsourced employees.

BJP MLA Deep Ram pointed out that he had raised this very question a year ago, yet he did not receive a response. He demanded that the government, at the very least, disclose the exact number of individuals terminated from their jobs.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the government would soon provide this information to the MLA.

Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur remarked that the Congress had promised during the elections that one lakh jobs would be provided in the very first cabinet meeting. The reality, however, is that nearly fifteen thousand outsourced workers have been laid off, he claimed.

Thakur alleged that the outsourcing agencies involved are registered in the names of Congress leaders.

Money is being solicited before the interviews, and there is no guarantee whether a candidate will be selected or not, yet payments are being demanded, he added.

The chief minister responded, “If the leader of the opposition possesses such information, he should share it with him, and if the claims are found false, a case of breach of privilege will be initiated against him.” PTI BPL VN VN
