Patiala, Mar 17 (PTI) Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur on Tuesday wrote to the National Commission for Women, urging it to take note of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s alleged remarks on women recently.
In her complaint, Kaur expressed “deep anguish and strong condemnation” over the alleged objectionable remarks made by Mann during a public address on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Kaur alleged that the CM made inappropriate remarks when he was speaking about a female fellow student while sharing anecdotes from his student life.
Urging swift intervention, Kaur called upon the NCW to take immediate cognisance of the matter and initiate appropriate action.
She also sought directions for the CM to issue a public and unconditional apology, asserting that accountability at the highest levels is essential to safeguard women’s dignity.
The Punjab Congress had earlier also written to the National Commission for Women, seeking action against Mann for his alleged remarks on women. PTI COR CHS NB NB NB
