Anakapalli (Andhra Pradesh), Mar 24 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said the NDA coalition government has delivered on its promise of transformation across sectors while laying the foundation for the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) India project in Anakapalli district.

Naidu, along with the union ministers, laid the foundation for the Rs 1.35 lakh crore AM/NS India integrated steel plant at Nakkapalli in the district on Monday.

“We made a promise and we delivered change. With the mandate given by the people, we are bringing transformation in every sector and every region,” Naidu said in a post on ‘X’.

Highlighting the project as a major step forward for North Andhra, he said the arrival of the steel plant marks a significant milestone in the region’s development.

Referring to the previous YSRCP government between 2019 and 2024, Naidu alleged that 21 months ago the region was reeling from insecurity, fear and mental distress due to encroachments, demolitions and cases.

He said the NDA coalition government has brought happiness and renewed confidence through development across the region.

The CM said the AM/NS India project being established in Anakapalli district will now serve as a new direction for the future of North Andhra transforming the region into a steel hub.

With the construction of an integrated steel plant, Andhra Pradesh will reach the highest position in the steel sector in the country, Naidu noted.

The chief minister observed that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, achieved through people’s struggle, stands as a symbol of self-respect for the Andhra people.

The TDP supremo cited the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for enabling such a massive project within 21 months.

From supply of raw materials to approvals, the Centre extended encouragement at every stage through swift and positive decisions, he said.

Naidu further said that the progressive decisions of the double-engine government are shaping a steel city in the region.

The project will create lakhs of employment and livelihood opportunities for youth, he added.

Within the next three years, the benefits of development will be visible across all sectors and aspects in the region, the chief minister said. PTI MS STH KH
