New Delhi: The Prize Distribution Function of the 25th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2023-24 for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will be held Thursday at GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi.

Arjun Ram Meghwal, minister of state (independent charge) of the Ministry of Law and Justice and minister of state in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, will preside over the ceremony and present awards to the winning students and schools.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandrapur, Maharashtra (Pune Region), which won first place in the competition, will perform a repeat of its “Youth Parliament” presentation, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said in a statement Wednesday.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has organized the annual Youth Parliament Competition for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the past 28 years. This year, 80 schools across eight regions participated.

The competition aims to instill democratic values such as self-discipline, tolerance for diverse viewpoints, and effective communication skills among young people. It also familiarizes students with parliamentary procedures, debate techniques, and helps them develop leadership, confidence, and oratory skills.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandrapur, Maharashtra (Pune Region), will be awarded the Running Parliamentary Shield and Trophy for its first-place finish.
