Villupuram, (Tamil Nadu), Mar 18 (PTI) A decision about forging an alliance for the upcoming Assembly polls would be announced in one or two days, a top PMK leader said on Wednesday.

The party is split into two factions, and the one led by Dr Anbumani, son of party founder Dr S Ramadoss, became part of the AIADMK-led NDA ahead of the crucial Assembly polls.

G K Mani, a close aide of PMK Founder S Ramadoss, who leads the other faction, said the party’s administrative committee met twice at Thailapuram near Tindivanam to discuss on the alliance prospects.

“Doctor Ayya (S Ramadoss) led the morning and the afternoon sessions of the committee. He appealed to everyone to voice their views in a healthy and democratic way on forming an alliance for the forthcoming Assembly polls,” Mani told reporters.

“As the delegates expressed their views, he (Ramadoss) asked them about the constituencies in various districts and the people’s mood on the ground,” he said.

Responding to a query on alliance, Mani said, “Though the administrative committee holds discussions regularly, today’s meeting assumes significance. The decision on the alliance will be announced in one or two days. Right now, I cannot tell you anything more than this.” PMK MLA R Arul echoed similar views. “Today, we had a series of discussions. Right now, we do not have any important announcements to share with you (media),” he said, without elaborating. PTI VIJ VIJ ADB
