New Delhi, Mar 15 (PTI) The BJP on Sunday welcomed the announcement of the schedule of the Assembly polls in four states and a Union Territory, and exuded confidence that it would emerge victorious in all five elections with the “blessings” of people.
According to the Election Commission (EC), polling will be held on a single day in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry (April 9) and Tamil Nadu (April 23), while West Bengal will see two-phase polling — on April 23 and April 29.
“With the announcement of the election schedule in five states, NDA and BJP workers are fully prepared for the upcoming polls,” BJP president Nitin Nabin said.
“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, while the NDA is poised to form the government once again in Assam and Puducherry, the path to victory for the NDA-BJP is also being paved in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala with the blessings of people,” he said in a post in Hindi on X.
Welcoming the announcement of the poll schedule, BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said, “Elections are a grand festival of democracy, an occasion that not only strengthens public participation but also paves new paths for development, public welfare and good governance.” It is an opportunity for people to exercise their franchise and further empower democracy, he said in a post on X.
“I am confident that the vigilant citizens of these states will uphold democratic values and deliver a decisive mandate in favour of development, stability and good governance,” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader added.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said with the announcement of the poll schedule, the “reverse countdown” has begun for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal.
“Bengal is all set to vote for ‘Poriborton (change)’. Bengal is all set to vote for development. Bengal is all set to vote for BJP; Bengal is all set to vote for PM Narendra Modi. This election 2026; People of Bengal are fighting against ‘Tolamool’ Congress,” Bhandari said in a post on X.
BJP election in-charge for Kerala Vinod Tawde asked party workers to reach “every home” with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Keralam”, and strengthen the movement for development and inclusive governance in the southern state.
“Rise, work hard and stop not till BJP comes to power in Keralam,” he said in a post on X. PTI PK RC RC
