Shimla, Mar 30 (PTI) Hundreds of pensioners protested at the Chaura Maidan here near the Vidhan Sabha, demanding their long-pending dues.
The protesters had gathered under the banner of the Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Joint Executive Committee.
According to the demonstrators, pensioners who retired between January 2016 and January 2022 have not been paid gratuity and leave encashment. They said they were still to get the 13 per cent dearness allowance (DA) and arrears of 44 months.
Medical bills worth crores accrued over the past three years were yet to be released, they said.
“Despite serving for over 40 years, we are being deprived of our dues. The situation is so grave that pensioners have to protest at such an old age,” one of them said. PTI COR VN VN
