New Delhi: Paul John Whisky, the Indian single malt with global recognition, has partnered with Avolta Duty Free at Kempegowda International Airport to launch its second Bengaluru Duty Free Exclusive bottling. According to the press release, The Bengaluru Habba, the limited-edition release is a celebration of the city’s festive spirit.
The release notes that only 192 bottles will be available exclusively at Bengaluru Duty Free from 19 September, 2025, at a price of ₹13,150. Positioned as a collectible rarity, the bottling is said to give travellers and collectors “an opportunity to experience the unique tropical character that defines Paul John’s legacy, while taking home the joyous celebrations of the city’s popular festivals.”
Crafted in Goa, the Bengaluru Habba is presented in the release as a Master Distiller’s Special Selection: non chill-filtered, bottled at 56.4% ABV, drawn from a single cask, and retaining natural colour without additives.
Tasting notes provided in the release describe the whisky as deep amber in colour with “glimmers of old oak,” carrying aromas of ripe tropical fruits, cocoa, and berries. On the palate, it reportedly delivers “layers of baked citrus and toasted caramel,” balanced by peat smoke, with a “long, silky, honeyed finish touched with oak.”
The design and packaging, according to the release, reflect Bengaluru’s festive culture. Paul John Whisky’s statement adds that the launch “continues the brand’s journey of marrying India’s whisky-making tradition with contemporary innovation.”
The release also highlights Paul John’s trajectory since 2012, noting distribution in 45+ countries and over 370 international awards across its portfolio. This includes its core expressions Brilliance and Bold, Select Cask favourites like Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, and the award-winning Zodiac series featuring Kanya and Mithuna.
John Distilleries, the company behind Paul John, was founded in 1996 by Paul P. John. The release states that the company has since grown into a leading spirits producer, with the Sazerac Company as an active stakeholder.
According to the press statement, The Bengaluru Habba is positioned as both a tribute to Bengaluru’s festival spirit and an exclusive collectible for global travellers passing through the city.
