Panchayat leaders to attend I-Day celebration as special guests at Red Fort

300 leaders from across India have been invited to participate in the Independence day celebrations on 15 August at the Red Fort.

New Delhi: The 78th Independence Day celebrations Thursday will include the participation of 300 Panchayat leaders from across the country, including Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), a PIB release stated.

Panchayat Representatives have been invited as special guests to attend the event at Red Fort, Delhi on 15 August. The program will include a speech by the Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, and other dignitaries.

The visit of Panchayat representatives to the National Capital has been designed as a comprehensive and enriching experience, encompassing various events and activities, the press release added. It will also provide an opportunity to showcase the success of women leaders and promote their inclusion in local governance.
