Palghar, Mar 29 (PTI) A worker was injured after a fire broke out in a mattress foam manufacturing factory in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday, police said.
The blaze erupted at around 5.30 am and quickly spread across the premises in the Wada area where large quantities of foam were stored, they said.
The flames were visible from a considerable distance and thick smoke engulfed the surrounding area.
A worker suffered burn injuries and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, Wada police station inspector Datta Kindre said.
Two fire engines rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames in about two hours. Cooling operations are currently underway, he said.
