Odisha govt appoints 4 ministers, 26 MLAs as chairpersons of district planning committees

Bhubaneswar, Apr 1 (PTI) The Odisha government has appointed four ministers and 26 MLAs of the ruling BJP as chairpersons of the district planning committees (DPC), officials said.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved names of heads of the planning committees for 30 districts, they said.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has been appointed the DPC chairman of Deogarh district, while minister Prithiviraj Harichandan will head the DPC in Gajapati.

Ministers Nityananda Gond and Krushna Chandra Patra have been appointed as chairmen of the planning committee of Rayagada and Sambalpur districts, respectively, it said.

The MLAs who have been appointed heads of DPCs include Ashok Mohanty (Angul), Laxman Bag (Bolangir), Padmalochan Panda (Balasore), Ashwini Kumar Sarangi (Bargarh), Purna Chandra Sethy (Ganjam), Amarendra Das (Jagatsinghpur), Tankadhar Tripathy (Jharsuguda), Fakir Mohan Naik (Keonjhar), Jay Dholkia (Nuapada), and Prasanta Kumar Jagadev (Khurda).
