New Delhi: The Network Planning Group (NPG), under the PM GatiShakti initiative, convened for its 81st meeting Thursday led by Additional Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The group assessed five key infrastructure projects from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), evaluating their alignment with the integrated planning principles outlined in the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP), a PIB release stated.
The projects under review included a 16.75 km Vrindavan Bypass in Uttar Pradesh, a 142.26 km Sandalpur-Badi Road in Madhya Pradesh, a 55.94 km Junnar-Taleghar Road in Maharashtra, and a 60.45 km Bhimashankar – Rajgurunagar Road in Maharashtra. Additionally, the development of a new integrated terminal building and allied infrastructure at Srinagar Airport in Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, was also under review.
The NPG evaluated each project based on its contribution to integrated multimodal infrastructure development. These projects are anticipated to significantly impact regional connectivity, reduce travel times, boost tourism and trade, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of their respective regions.
