New Delhi, March 25 (PTI) During the Budget Session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, Food and Supplies Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa assured the House that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the national capital.

“I would like to inform the citizens and the entire House that no rumours regarding LPG distribution in Delhi should be encouraged. The department is working with full vigilance to curb black marketing and ensure smooth supply,” he said.

AAP MLA Aaley Mohammad Iqbal had asked the government in the Delhi Assembly what steps it was taking to allay the LPG shortage.

Iqbal was the lone AAP MLA who attended the House, despite a boycott of the Budget Session by his party.

The Matia Mahal MLA said there was panic over LPG supply in the city and sought to know from the government what steps were taken to prevent black marketing and hoarding.

Sirsa clarified that the situation has remained completely normal over the past 22–25 days, with no signs of overbooking or shortage. Domestic and commercial cylinders are being supplied on a priority basis in accordance with the Central Government’s policy, ensuring that essential services, including hospitals, receive uninterrupted supply, he added. Sirsa said, “With the festive season approaching, I want to assure the entire House that not even for a single day or a single hour will there be any shortage anywhere.” The BJP-dominated Delhi Assembly on Wednesday passed a censure motion.
