Hamirpur (HP), Jun 29 (PTI) The Union Human Resource Development Ministry has appointed a regular registrar for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Hamirpur after a long gap of thirteen years.
While Dr Archana Santosh Nanotti of Gujarat has been appointed as the institute’s registrar, Pankaj Kumar of Uttarakhand has been appointed as its deputy registrar.
Total 14 persons were shortlisted for the post of registrar out of which Dr Nanotti was chosen. She has also taken charge, a spokesperson of the institute said on Thursday.
As many as 43 applicants had applied for the post of deputy registrar out of which 10 people were shortlisted and finally, Pankaj Kumar Verma was selected. The interviews for both positions were held on June 19 and 20, respectively.
Earlier, senior faculty members close to the director were used to be appointed as the registrar due to which the administrative work of the institute used to proceed at a snail’s pace, a source said on the condition of anonymity.
The Director of the Institute, Prof H M Suryavanshi said with the appointment of a registrar and deputy registrar on a regular basis, the working of the institute would become smooth. PTI COR BPL RDT
