Patna, Mar 12 (PTI) Bihar’s Minister for Industries Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Thursday emphasised the need to develop a “progressive” export promotion policy for the state.

He was speaking at an exporters’ conclave here, which focused on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the Export Promotion Mission (EPM).

During his address, Jaiswal lauded the role of exporters in strengthening Bihar’s export ecosystem, and urged the DGFT to open its office in the state.

According to a statement issued by the state’s industries department, 28 ‘status-holder exporters’ from Bihar were felicitated for their significant contribution to growth of exports.

Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar also highlighted Bihar’s export potential, and the state government’s initiatives to create a strong export ecosystem.

“The vision of developing export hubs in every district of Bihar will increase the state’s contribution to exports and its GSDP,” he said.

Kumar urged exporters to form an Exporters’ Association of Bihar to strengthen coordination, representation and collective growth. PTI SUK RBT
