Names of 7.68 lakh voters deleted from electoral roll in Odisha: CM

Bhubaneswar, Mar 30 (PTI) Names of 7.68 lakh voters in Odisha were deleted from the electoral roll due to various reasons from June 2025 to March 22 this year, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told the state assembly on Monday.

Replying to a written question of BJD legislator Ranendra Pratap Swain, the chief minister said the names of 2,03,396 deceased persons were deleted from the electoral roll during the period.

Similarly, the names of 4,08,132 voters were deleted from the list due to their transfer and 1,54,318 voters were removed as their names were in more than one place, he said.

Apart from the above, names of another 2,646 voters were deleted from the electoral roll due to some other reasons, he said.

Majhi said that 5,67,034 persons have applied to enrol in the voters’ list during the period. PTI BBM BBM RG
