Mumbai, Mar 14 (PTI) Suburban train services on the Western Railway will be affected for four-and-a-half hours on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday for work on an overbridge at Prabhadevi station, an official release said.

The block, scheduled from 1.30 am to 6 am, is being operated to de-launch a girder of the Prabhadevi Road Overbridge (ROB).

Several local trains will be cancelled, short-terminated, or reversed from Dadar and Bandra stations, and no services will be available at Matunga Road and Mahim during this period, the Western Railway stated in a release.

The state authorities have dismantled the east-west connecting Prabhadevi road overbridge (ROB), also known as Elphinstone ROB, to pave the way for the under-construction double-decker bridge outside the railway section.

Now, the cast iron portion over the railway lines of the Central and Western Railway is yet to be dismantled.

The release also stated that a jumbo block will be operated on the Up and Down fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar stations from 12.15 am to 3.45 am on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

According to Western Railway sources, at least 45 suburban services are likely to be cancelled due to these blocks, and regular services might run late.

The block will also affect the schedule of mail and express trains, they said.

However, the last suburban local on Saturday night will run as per schedule. PTI KK ARU
