Shajapur (MP), Oct 13 (PTI) Five persons sustained injuries in a clash between groups belonging to two communities in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district on Sunday, police said.

Shots were fired during violence in Panwadi village under Sunera police station limits, around 15 km from the district headquarters, an official said.

Groups belonging to the Banjara and Patidar communities clashed around noon over a dispute that erupted three days ago, Sunera police station in-charge Gopal Singh Nigwal said.

The groups allegedly attacked each other with sticks, and gunfire was also reported during the incident, he said.

Nigwal said five persons were injured and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, he said. PTI COR ADU ARU
