Bhopal, May 9 (PTI) The Madhya Pradesh police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday detained around 10 persons for their suspected links with the Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HUT), a radical outfit, from two cities in the state, a senior official said.
The ATS detained 8 to 10 people from various areas of Bhopal and Chhindwara over their alleged connection with the fundamentalist organisation and they are being interrogated, the senior Anti-Terrorism Squad official told PTI.
He said in the state capital, the suspects were taken into custody from Aishbagh, Jawahar Colony and some other areas.
The official did not provide further details.
However, sources said objectionable literature, electronic devices and some other material were seized from the possession of the detained persons.
Last year, several people were arrested from Bhopal for their alleged links with the banned group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), and jihadi literature and electronic devices seized from them. PTI ADU RSY RSY
