Jaipur, Mar 19 (PTI) A caretaker of a mosque was booked for allegedly attempting to burn a man alive in Tonk district of Rajasthan on Thursday, police said.

The police have registered an attempt to murder case against the accused, Abdul Rashid, 25, and admitted the injured to a hospital in Jaipur, they said.

The incident occurred in a mosque in Kalmanda village, where the accused Abdul Rashid, 25, hurled some inflammable substance at Hakim, 45, when he was inside a bathroom and set him on fire.

Malpura Deputy SP Ashish Kumar Prajapat said that Rashid and Hakim had a verbal argument on Wednesday over some issue. On Thursday, when Hakim was inside the bathroom, he hurled some inflammable and set him ablaze.

He said that Hakim was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals, and from there, he was referred to a hospital in Jaipur.
