Aizawl, Mar 27 (PTI) Mizoram Governor VK Singh on Friday said the state was emerging as a key player in the country’s Act East policy due to its strategic location.
He underscored the significant strategic importance of Mizoram despite its relatively small population and compact geographical area.
“The state is uniquely positioned at the tri-junction of India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, making it a key player in India’s Act East policy,” he said during an interaction with a delegation of journalists from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
He said the cordial relations Mizoram maintains with its neighbouring countries have contributed to a largely peaceful border.
He said the state has also achieved another milestone recently in becoming the “ginger capital of India”.
Singh also spoke about the development initiatives undertaken across multiple sectors in the state. PTI CORR SOM
