Minor raped in Jharkhand’s Gumla

Gumla, Mar 28 (PTI) A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Friday within the Ghaghara police station limits when the victim was returning home from a Ram Navami fair along with a male friend, police said.

“We have lodged an FIR based on the statement of the victim’s father on Saturday. The medical examination of the victim has been conducted. The incident happened on Friday night. She had gone to a Ram Navami fair at Gamharia. When she was returning home with him, the man raped her,” said Mohan Kumar Singh, officer in-charge of Ghaghara Police Station.

So far, the accused has not been arrested as he is on the run. Efforts are being made to trace and apprehend him. PTI RPS RPS RG
